Döner eaten the way it is eaten in Turkey — on a plate, with a knife and fork, not wrapped in foil at two in the morning.
What is a döner plate?
Döner is meat stacked on a vertical spit and roasted as it turns, then shaved off in thin slices as the outside cooks. The word means “turning”. In Turkey the porsiyon — the plate — is the standard way to eat it: the meat is served with rice or bulgur, grilled vegetables and bread, and you sit down to it. The wrap is the fast version. What separates a good döner from the rest is whether the meat was stacked in the restaurant from real cuts, or arrived pre-formed and frozen.
How we prepare it at Anatolia Grill
Ours is made in-house from veal, stacked on the spit here rather than bought in. It is carved to order and served as a 180 g plate with grilled tomato, chilli pepper and pita bread. 349 CZK. If you prefer it wrapped, we also serve a döner wrap and a döner sandwich at 289 CZK.
Take it home from Anatolia Meat Market
The veal comes from our own cattle, processed in our own slaughterhouse. The Anatolia Meat Market next door sells the same beef and veal, cut to order.
From our own farm, not from a supplier
Anatolia Grill is part of Agro Řeřichy s.r.o., a Czech company that has been working in agriculture, meat processing and gastronomy for more than ten years. We breed our own lambs and fatten our own beef cattle at the farm in Rakovník, process them in our own slaughterhouse, and sell them in our own butchery in Prague — the shop right next to this restaurant. That is the reason the meat on your plate is traceable back to a single chain we control from start to finish.
